Do you need a quick facial scrub or a hair mask? Or you ran out of your favorite body lotion?
Check out your kitchen :)
In past 2 years I discovered so many benefits of cold pressed virgin coconut oil and, besides in the kitchen (which I would reccomend to everyone – read the benefits on organicfacts.net) , my favorite time to use it is in my beauty routines.
Coconut oil is kind of a trend in home skincare world at the moment but it definitely isn’t one trick poney. Because of all nutritive value coconut oil has, it can benefit literally any part of your body, inside or outside. Some of the treatments my not show major result after using it only one time but if incorporate this amazing 100% natural, budget friendly product in your routines, I promise you will discover completely new experience.
I would also like to add that if you are not a big fan of coconut scent, you can just choose cold pressed virgin coconut oil without scent :)
Here is what you want to look for in the food store, bio pharmacy or even drugstores that have organic food departments :
These are my favorite coconut oil treatments!
QUICK & EASY HAIR MASK
When I plan to wash my hair in the morning, two to three times a month I give my hair coconut oil treatment which is so simple and so quick, it takes 2 min max. It is perfect if you are curling or straightening your hair a lot or you just don’t have time to visit a hair saloon.
Take 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, melt it in hands and spread over the lower half of your hair (or only ends). Go through your hair with a comb so the oil spreads equally and wrap your hair into a bun and you are ready for bed (you can put a towel under your head but for me it never goes on the pillow case)! In the morning, just normally wash your hair with a shampoo and a conditioner and that’s it!
MY TIP × if you don’t like to have an overnight mask, you can apply the same treatment at least 1,5 hour before washing your hair, it will definitely show a result
OVERNIGHT ACNEE TREATMENT
This face treatment works for every skin type and especially acnee prone skin. I am recently dealing with my pretty wild skin and this tretment helps incredibly, so much better than already tested and expensive creams and treatments. And for oily skin, don’t let the word oil trick you – this is a natural oil and it is very good for your skin.
Two to three times a week, take a little bit of coconut oil on your finger and apply all over you previously cleansed face & good night :) Your skin will absorb oil in few minuted and it won’t be sticky. In the morning, wash your face with a facewash you usually use and do your skincare routine.
MY TIP × I usually mix coconut oil with a drop of tea tree oil which has strong antibacterial properties (+ many more) and the result is faster and better
LIPS, BODY & FEET MOISTURIZER
Winter is coming and our skin get more dry. Some of us feel it more and some of us less but it’s important to keep the skin moisturized – it will be thankful in future :)
Simply apply coconut oil as any other body or feat cream ( best after peeling treatment) and let your skin absorb it for approximately 6 -8 minutes.
MY TIP × after you are done showering, don’t dry your skin completely but apply coconut oil on still half wet skin – it spreads way easier and you skin will be extra soft
HAND & NAIL TREATMENT
Are you also one of those who have 55 hand creams all over bags and room? I am and I’m trying hard to change it because every time I use coconut oil as a hand “mask”, it convinces me that it’s better than any other cream.
After doing your manicure or just simply whenever you feel like, apply coconut oil as any other hand and nail cream (best results are gained if you do it during the night).
MY TIP: 3 minutes after application of coconut oil, wrap a warm towel around your hands – it will help the absorption :)
If you don’t use facial scrubs too often and you can’t decide which drugstore scrub to buy – this is a solution from your kitchen.
There are plenty of ways to make a coconut oil scrub. The basis is always, of course, coconut oil and the rest are your favorites. For “scrubbing” part you can add sugar, salt or maybe lavander and keep adding it to coconut oil untill you get a thick mixture. You can always add some other ingerdients, like lemon juice, honey etc. if that is what your skin likes.
MY TIP × make a little bit more of a scrub and store it in the fridge, it can stay there for months or store it in small jars and give it as a gift to your friends for upcoming hollidays :)
