I love Eucerin and my skin loves it too so I gave a try to their AQUAporin Active face cream which contains a new hydrating formula for normal to combination skin. In this transition period between the winter and the spring and moving from Sweden to Germany, I really needed something light and I knew Eucerin could be a great solution! I wasn’t wrong.
First I have to say that I’m a great fan of Eucerin, especially their face products. I tried many of their creams, including the Dermo Purifyer line which I used when I had problematic skin and it really made my issues better after using it for few months. So, my skin obviously likes Eucerin and their formulas, which of course doesn’t have to be the case for everyone.
AQUAporin cream is the day cream even though I use it for both the day and night. It is meant for normal and/to combination skin but there is also the same formula for dry skin. This is what Eucerin says about the AQUAporin formula:
“Most moisturisers improve skin hydration by limiting the evaporation of water from the skin and/or by binding moisture in to the outer layer of the skin with humectants such as Glycerin. However, the skin has its own hydration system, the Aquaporins. The unique formulas in the Eucerin AQUAporin ACTIVE range enhance skin’s own hydration system and leave skin supple, smooth and radiant.
Aquaporins are microscopic channels, which transport water between skin cells and support skin hydration from within. Eucerin AQUAporin ACTIVE enhances their natural strength. All formulas contain Gluco Glycerol, a state-of-the-art hydrating ingredient, which is proven to increase the number of Aquaporins in the skin. This means that, in addition to limiting evaporation and binding water into the outer layers of skin, Eucerin AQUAporin ACTIVE enhances skin’s own hydration system.”
The cream comes in the hard plastic package of 50ml which will probably be enough until the summer. Since it contains a lot of water it is very light and hydrating which was exactly what I was looking for. The consistence is somewhere between the regular cream and the thicker gel cream, it is not liquidy and it is very easy to apply it. Also, it works as a great make up base and it’s a nice match to a BB or CC cream. It is important to mention that the cream is clinically tested on 365 women during 2 week and showed significant improvement.
