Weekend Highlights/ Munich Fleamarket and Brunch in Mauerer

Flea market is a not-to-miss event, especially when it’s the biggest one in Bavaria and when you find some treasure too, doesn’t get much better! Grab a cup of coffee (or tea if you are not a coffee person like me) and go back to last Saturday  in Munich with me.

This was my third weekend in Munich since I moved and I felt it’s time to go and explore a bit more than I did before. Flea market was a big thing going on because it’s only once a year and it apparently has more than 8.000 sellers, besides 80.000+ visitors, which is totally cool and I had to at least see it – with that many people, it’s not only a flea market, it’s an event!

I came with roommate Dana quite late I would say and was hoping that we can still catch something valuable, which turned out to be a challenge, of course! But that on the side, there were so many amazing things to see, from furniture, kitchen supplies, jewelry, toys…Whatever you imagine! And if I wouldn’t be here only for two months, probably I would have come back home with much more than a bag and a ring.

I am not a flea market expert at all and I spent most of the time walking around being fascinated with existing old stuff that or I have never seen or I haven’t seen the since I was a child. Flea market is definitely a great throwback to childhood!

What I did buy, as I mentioned, was this beautiful brown leather bag by Marc Chantal for such a cheap money, it would be a tragedy to leave it there to someone else, it was a love at first sight. Also, a beautiful purple vintage ring for 2€ was quite a successful deal!

brunch at Mauerer

After a long walk and tired eyes, it was time for a brunch and Dana took me to her favorite place Mauerer at Muncher Freiheit where they serve organic food. Long story short – this place is amazing, quite affordable and so freaking delicious! The baguette with mozzarella, ham and rosemary was a transfer to heaven for a second, so crunchy but melting in your mouth. Thanks Dana, that was a good one!
